#ROBOTAJANET | In 1981, Janet was a track standout when a nagging pain in her left leg led her to a doctor. The diagnosis was a shock: she had bone cancer. It would be, as she put it, “my leg or my life.” Doctors amputated her leg at mid-thigh, and Janet began to wear a socket prosthesis. Years later she was "blown away" with another amputee who walked easily and comfortably after osseointegration, so she explored it for herself 🦿🦿 Although she would need another surgery and months of recovery and rehabilitation, Dr. Jason Stoneback performed the surgery at UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital.
