rileymsmith pulled as hard and fast as he could on this big calico. The sea lion barely even tried and took a chomp out of it effortlessly. This is the first bass we've lost to a California Sea Lion in a long time, although it does happen. Seems as though different populations of them behave differently, as most times they seem to ignore bass and rockfish. Although I've had them take both off our lines. It's easy to hate them, especially when they're taking bites out of a big fish we try so hard to catch but I've come to just accept it as another dynamic of playing in the ocean.
