AI and tech-led rendering this past decade and in particular since the Covid lockdowns has accelerated this into a resurgence of Rococo-esque kitsch: excess made easy, purely decorative and over-optimized, without the underlying feeling. An art style that may define this age. It has a Cubist-like structure of assemblage in a Surrealist framework. This all lacks endurance and is built with engagement and pleasing tendencies foremost. We're all losing our heads over it, which is darkly appropriate—that's partly what led to Rococo's decline with Marie Antoinette's demise. Much like Abstract Expressionism was criticized for recycling work already done by Kandinsky, Miró, even Cézanne, computational work today has precedents across decades of computer art and early digital experimentation. History repeats, but faster now, and with less resistance and inherently the understanding of it all. #techspressionism #digitalart #digitabstraction #digitalism #abstractexpressionism #digitalgrafitti
