Welcome to Day 2 of the James Beard Foundation Chef Action Summit in Asheville, North Carolina. On the second day, the attendees immersed themselves deeper into meaningful conversations, and individuals shared stories of what their 'action' looks like. They joined sessions on preparing businesses for crises like that of what Asheville experienced in 2024, focused on education around policy frameworks and workforce care during challenging times. Panelists discussed effective advocacy campaigns, teaching chefs by first-person accounts how they can continue to amplify their voices and build community leverage. In the evenings, the chefs had the opportunity to explore Asheville, mix, mingle, and dine at the local restaurants they heard about throughout their day.
