A Woodward woman accused of killing a real estate agent 15 years ago has posted a reduced bond to be released from jail after a judge found her unlikely to flee or reoffend. Kristin Ramsey, 53, is charged with first-degree murder in the April 2011 death of Ashley Okland. The 27-year-old was found shot twice in a townhome she was marketing for sale. Ramsey was initially held on a $2 million cash bond, but her attorneys asked the court to reduce that total to $100,000, which would allow her to be released upon paying 10%, or $10,000. In an order filed Thursday, April 16, Dallas County Judge Coleman McAllister set Ramsey's bond instead at $500,000, putting the cash amount to pay at $50,000. In his ruling, McAllister notes Ramsey's deep ties to Dallas County, lack of any other criminal record, and the more than 50 letters submitted by community members on her behalf.
