A stretch of road outside an Urbandale apartment complex has collapsed into a large sinkhole, cutting off the only driveway for some residents. The sinkhole opened late Saturday, April 11, near Camelot Drive and Buckingham Square outside the Westpointe Apartments and Townhomes, north of Hickman Road and west of 73rd Street. It swallowed part of the roadway, a sidewalk and a nearby grassy area, forcing drivers onto a nearby trail not designed for vehicles.
