Bottles of a popular medication used to treat anxiety and panic disorders are being recalled nationwide, according to a report from the Food and Drug Administration. One lot of Xanax, one of the most widely prescribed benzodiazepines, was recalled by pharmaceutical company Viatris because the drug failed to meet dissolution specifications. According to the FDA, the voluntary recall was listed as a "Class II" recall, which means temporary, adverse health consequences are possible.
