This filly from the first crop of Spendthrift Farm’s stallion Jackie’s Warrior, out of GIII winner Brazen Persuasion, became the second highest-priced juvenile to ever sell at the OBS Spring Sale when she brought a final bid of $2.3 million during Wednesday’s session.
Consigned by Hartley/DeRenzo Thoroughbreds, she went the way of Mrs. Fitriani Hay. Wesley Ward, known for his juvenile success, has already been named as the trainer for this record-setting filly who blitzed her furlong in a sales-quickest time of :9 3/5.
“We wouldn’t spend that sort of money if there was any flaw,” said bloodstock agent Alex Cole who spoke on behalf of Hay after the ticket was signed as D. Farrington.
The filly was originally sold as a yearling for $140,000 at the Keeneland September Sale.
