It took a year, but I finally put a good use to the 34+ license plates I picked up off of the road when I ran across the United States last year. The crew was sick of carrying all of the plates in the van with us, and even more annoyed every time I showed up to the van with another in my hands. The plates are a motley conglomeration and I think that fits our crew just right. Each member on the Transcon crew had a nickname - earned by the work they put in every single day for 51 days. The lowest of lows together, but also the highest of highs. These plates tell the story of the Transcon. I can recall where every plate was found, and events before and after finding specific plates. Now the Crew each has a piece of the story to keep with them. Putting these together for everyone, I couldn’t help but smile and laugh about the origin story of every call-sign here.
