There was a “subtle shift” in the demeanor of Gilgo Beach serial killer Rex A. Heuermann during recent court hearings that indicated he was ready to plead guilty, Suffolk DA Ray Tierney told Newsday TV. On Wednesday, Heuermann, 62, a father of two from Massapequa Park, pleaded guilty to the murders of seven women, and admitted to an eighth killing, going back decades during a hearing in Riverhead. He will spend the rest of his life in state prison.
