April 18th is National Exercise Day! For today, Howard shows how he exercises in the print shop exhibit at the Sacramento History Museum. Considering Howard is in his late 80s, he does a great job staying in shape around the printing presses!
In the video, after showing his leg routine on the 10x15 Chandler & Price jobbing press, Howard letterpress printed an image of a man riding a bicycle. This small electrotype (copy of woodcut) was made about 125-135 years ago from the Lewis Winter Collection. This was printed with green rubber base ink using our Washington hand press, which was made in 1852.
