Today we visit Studio 493 for our #Artist365 spotlight of Patricia Nolan Brown lovingly known as Troods! Troods is a lifelong artist whose work is rooted in an enduring drive to create. Formally trained in painting and design at Framingham State University under James Eng and Arthur B. Mazmanian, Troods earned a Bachelor of Arts in Art and went on to found two successful graphic design companies. This foundation in both fine art and design has informed a multidisciplinary creative practice that spans painting, invention, and authorship, including the book Idea to Invention, which explores the creative process. Now working full-time from Western Avenue Studios & Lofts in Lowell, Massachusetts, Troods has cultivated a studio practice centered on expressive oil painting.
