From the
#Artist365 series meet Jim Blute in studio 151
Jim Blute is a Lowell Massachusetts-based artist whose creative practice includes watercolor painting, photography, music, and fine woodworking. His woodworking ranges from handcrafted furniture and treehouses to smaller functional pieces.
In watercolor and photography, his work centers on local landscapes, architecture, and everyday scenes. He is particularly drawn to overlooked details—rusted locks, chains, manhole covers, utility poles and wires, fishing lures, and alleyways—rendered with careful composition and controlled technique to create balanced, light-filled images. Jim uses creativity to explore the world around him and to quiet the world within.
Jim's "Morning Sun" watercolor can be seen on display in the lobby at the HCID Parking Facility on Dutton Street in Lowell. Jim's watercolors and photography have also been featured at Curation 250 Gallery in Downtown Lowell.
