Today in #Artist365, we’re stepping into Studio 345, Anne-Marie Delaunay-Danizio. Delaunay-Danizio is a French born artist whose sensitivity was initially shaped by French Modernism. She started painting at 17, in Paris in the 70s, but became fully involved with her artistic practice upon receiving an MFA in 2020. Her art shares affinities with French and American artists such as Louise Bourgeois, Nikki de Saint Phalle, Helen Frankenthaler, Lee Krasner, Willem de Kooning and Arshille Gorky, all parental (or grand parental) figures. Amongst artists of her generations she places herself as a “sister” to Keith Harring, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Carrie Moyer and Sheila Peppe.
