During a CNN interview with Rachel Goldberg-Polin and Jon Polin, Anderson Cooper realized he had seen a video of their son being kidnapped by Hamas. An Israeli soldier had shown Cooper the footage days earlier on a phone recovered from a terrorist. After the interview, Cooper informed the family. Cooper tells Rachel Goldberg-Polin that he is sorry that he was the person to tell the family this news. “But we were so thankful, and it made us know that he was taken alive, that he walked on his own two feet. And we also were really grateful that you did it in such a human way,” she says, recalling the days after Oct. 7, 2023. “In this sideways world, when we had the proof that he was kidnapped, that was actually good,” Goldberg-Polin adds. #oct7 #hershgoldbergpolin #hostages #andersoncooper
