Inside the Sheakley Indoor Performance Facility, the Cincinnati Bearcats wrapped up their 15 allotted spring practices on April 18 with the Spring Showcase.
Rain and thunderstorms in the forecast forced the event to be moved from Nippert Stadium to the new facility.
"We'd have loved to have been in Nippert today, it would have been awesome," UC head coach Scott Satterfield said. "It wasn't great weather. We've got a bunch of families here today and a bunch of recruits. Being able to come to this beautiful facility is not a bad thing."
In the end, the black-shirted defense celebrated as they stopped the final drive of the controlled scrimmage. New defensive coordinator Nate Woody's unit had two interceptions, the same amount the Bearcats had all of last season, and a scoop and score.
The scrimmage was a tag-off or "thud" as it's known, with no hard tackling to prevent injuries. But both sides had their moments.
