“Life is political,” Cardinal Michael Czerny says—not in the partisan sense, but in the basic way we live together and respond to shared problems. His point is that being political doesn’t have to mean being partisan. Caring about issues or taking responsibility for what’s happening around us doesn’t automatically place us on a side. We all engage with the world differently—through different beliefs, different choices, sometimes different parties—but that responsibility isn’t owned by any one of them. The problem is when everything gets reduced to labels before anything else. Once that happens, it becomes harder to actually deal with the issues in front of us. Being political, in this sense, is less about picking a side and more about paying attention and taking responsibility for the world you’re part of. #Politics #Republican #Democrat #Community #Responsibility
