You should thank a goose for your freedom 🪿🫡 The founding fathers didn’t just write the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution out of thin air, they raised geese to do it! Goose feathers were the gold standard for writing quills, but there was one problem. Each bird only produces 3–5 feathers suitable for writing found only at the tips of the wings. And each quill only lasted about a week. So Thomas Jefferson and others actually kept their own flocks just to maintain a steady supply of pens.
