Meant a lot to me to share this photo of my grandfather, High Chief Peter Maivia with all of you in this moment 🤎🙏🏾🕊️ He was one of my heroes as a boy growing up and a very strong influence on my belief system on what a man should be and how a man should move through this world. My grandfather is also the inspiration for the character of MAUI from MOANA🪝 Every word spoken, every lyric sung, every wisecrack, every “smackdown”, every tear shed and every CHEE HOOO that Maui proudly expresses ~ that’s inspired by my grandpa.
