SWU – 1945 In 1945, James B. Hilson began his three‑year tenure as president. Upon his arrival, he noticed that little had changed since his days as a student from 1925 to 1931. As a result, one of his first priorities was strengthening the faculty, and in the years that followed, Wesleyan Methodist College welcomed many new faces among its professors.
