š My Everton
#146
āļø Tony Scott Sr, Evertonian
My family were all Red. I was about seven years of age.
I remember going to my mother and saying: "Look, Mum, I want to support Everton". She said: "You know, if you go, you can't come back."
The camaraderie, I think, unless you're an Evertonian, you don't understand it.
I think it's only when players actually come to the Club and they've been here for like six to 12 months, they get it. And then that's it, they're in.
If you always ask them where their loyalties lie, it's with Everton.
The philosophy was always: Get the balance right between being a massive stadium, but getting the noise right.
The balance was just perfect because it was laid out perfectly. Then I was thinking, well, what's it going to sound like?
As the match started going on, whatever they've done and however they've worked it to get that wall the way it booms out, it's deafening.
