Rosalind Young-Goree's charm and friendliness are dead giveaways of her Texas upbringing. The "yes, ma'am" and "no, sir" of her youth served her well during her 12-year stint in the Army.
She dreamed of being a doctor and began her academic path by studying chemistry at Xavier University in New Orleans. Life changed, and her career took a turn.
While she had hoped to see the world, the Army had other ideas. They sent her to the Fort Benjamin Harrison Finance Center in Indianapolis to pay the troops.
That eventually led her to Lilly, where she began her career in 1989, cleaning labs at our Indianapolis research headquarters.
While working for the Army, Rosalind earned a bachelor’s degree in biology. With that background, she soon advanced to lab technician and began rising up the ranks.
