Visiting the Banting and Best display was not only informative, but likened to a pilgrimage of sorts. If not for the arduous and diligent research, work, experimentation, and ultimately the accomplishments of this miraculous team of people and test subjects, I would not have a blessed breath in my body today. It's a bittersweet reality that, I'm sure, has crossed the mind of every person who has lived with or is living with Type 1 Diabetes since the day that ground breaking discovery was made: without insulin, there is no life.
