"I found out I had Type 1 diabetes in 2015. I had gotten really sick, I lost a lot of weight. They pricked my finger and my blood sugar was super high. I found out that my endocrinologist was doing a clinical trial and I wanted to participate. It’s up to me to make sure that I’m doing everything I can to live a healthy, balanced life in the context of my disease, and I think part of that is helping others. That is why for me clinical research was really important.
