For context, that is over 11 seconds faster than the GTD’s previous best run, which already made it one of the fastest American cars ever around the Ring.
But here is the catch and where things get interesting for enthusiasts.
This Competition version is a pre production prototype, not a standard production car.
That means it is likely running more aggressive aero, more power, less weight, and stickier tires than what customers will get.
Still, the number is real and it puts Ford right in the fight with elite European track weapons, even undercutting recent Porsche GT3 RS Manthey lap times.
