The moon! It’s our lone satellite, our nearest neighbor, our little sister, our constant companion. Here in Olympic, its gravitational pull coaxes the ocean up to submerge our rocky shoreline and bathe tidepool ecosystems in renewing waters before receding, as it has for uncounted millennia. This week, four of our fellow humans have boldly gone where no one has gone before, beholding the moon’s far side with human eyes for the first time. The Artemis II crew also cast that gaze homeward, beaming love and inspiration (and science!!) to all of us on this beautiful planet we share.
