Today Apple announced that it has named a replacement for Tim Cook as CEO. Cook is stepping down to assume the role of executive chairman – a position he will take on when the transition occurs. John Ternus, the head of hardware engineering, will officially succeed him on September 1, 2026. In a press release, Cook stated that he loves Apple with all of his being. He also noted that it has been the greatest privilege of his life to be trusted to lead such an extraordinary company.
