Every insecurity I’ve ever had can be traced back to something someone else pointed out first. Something they laughed at. Something they repeated. Something they made sure I noticed. And even though most of the bullying stopped after middle school… the voice never really did. It followed me into high school. Into my relationships. Into every room where I felt like I didn’t quite measure up. Into social media, where it all got loud again. People think once you’re “strong,” words don’t affect you anymore. But they do. They always do. They shape how you see yourself in pictures. How you show up online. How confident you feel standing next to someone you think is “more beautiful.” They make you hesitate. Shrink. Overthink. And the hardest part? I can honestly say I love the way I look now… but so many of the things I changed were never things I noticed on my own. They were things I was taught to see. That’s the part people don’t talk about enough. I will always be an advocate for self-love...
