A new “robotic tidal lane” system was put into operation in east China’s Hangzhou starting this April, for easing traffic jam during peak hours. ⁣ ⁣ The system, featuring 18 to 20 intelligent solar-powered robots, has a movable barrier and can switch lanes within 40 seconds.⁣ ⁣ Traffic police can operate the system on site with a remote controller, or the lane changes can be scheduled in advance through an app. ⁣ ⁣ The technology has already been introduced in several Chinese cities, including Beijing, Changsha, Chengdu and cities in Guangdong Province, helping improve traffic efficiency during rush hour.⁣ ⁣ #trafficjam #robots #tech #China #ChinaTech
