For this week's Shabbat Shout Out, we recognize our Model United Nations (MUN) students and advisors, who spent the days leading up to Color War and Spring Break representing DJDS—and the State of Israel—at the National High School Model United Nations (NHSMUN) conference in Manhattan. In rooms filled with more than 140 countries and thousands of delegates, our students took on a role that was as meaningful as it was complex: representing a country they know personally, while speaking with the objectivity, discipline, and composure of diplomats—at the real United Nations. This was not a simple assignment, as you can imagine. It required learning the language of diplomacy, navigating formal procedures, collaborating across delegations, and engaging in real-time debate—all while representing both their school and something much bigger.
