Almost forgot this is the whole point. For years, my mom and I talked about taking a trip to Italy together. We imagined walking these streets, sharing meals, and creating memories in a place we both dreamed of. But life had other plans. Since the day we started dreaming about this trip, my mom has had three open heart surgeries. We spent so many days in hospitals, praying, hoping, not knowing what the future would look like. There were moments I didn’t know if this trip would ever happen or if I’d get to do something like this with her at all.
