Happy National Volunteer Week! Our volunteers are the reason so many Rebels can stay connected to each other. “I thoroughly enjoyed my time and experiences as a student and later as an instructor at UNLV, so I chose to volunteer with the College of Education Alumni Chapter to give back to UNLV, remain involved, and stay connected. What I love the most is collaborating with other alumni in my chapter and participating in the many events we host throughout the year. For example, I’ve had the opportunity to volunteer at Spread the Word Nevada, which promotes literacy and provides books to underserved children in the Las Vegas metro area and throughout Nevada. The meaning of community is ‘a feeling of fellowship and a sharing of common interests.’ That’s exactly what I’ve discovered as a result of being involved in my chapter.
