I’m currently reading “Cutting Through Spiritual Materialism” by Chögyam Trungpa. In chapter 3, he discusses a concept that deeply resonates with me and aligns with a lesson I’ve recently learned: the importance of self-reliance in decision-making.
While many may argue for the value of external guidance, Trungpa suggests that true growth comes from fully embracing and being oneself. By doing so, we allow ourselves to live authentically, in accordance with our higher self. As constant reliance on external guidance can hinder this process, preventing us from becoming our own teachers and students.
This perspective encourages us to trust our inner wisdom and experience life directly, rather than always seeking answers from outside sources. It’s about finding the balance between learning from others and cultivating our own insights. But most importantly, allowing ourselves to build a strong internal relationship with ourselves. 🌀🤍
