Members of UWA Sport's Leagues Teams, the UWA Maali, have been presented with their playing jerseys in a ceremony held at the Neil Donaldson Pavilion on Wednesday morning ahead of the University Basketball League (UBL) and University Tennis League (UTL) seasons. The teams were led in a Welcome to Country by Noongar Elder Barry Winmar, who welcomed the players to Noongar land and wished them a safe return on their travels around the country. 2025 UBL Women's Captain, Jenna Teasdale, then shared the story of the black swan as told by Noongar Elder Neville Collard, which served as the inspiration for the Maali jersey design created by Aaron "Jungari" Sutton.
