It was awesome to be able to trial the new spinal cord stimulation technology from onwdempowered, called ARC-EX during one of my therapy sessions. It is a non-invasive spinal cord stimulation system that sends electrical signals through the skin to the spinal cord and is used along side of physical therapy. After spinal cord injuries, the connection between the brain and body is weakened, but not always completely gone. This system is designed to help wake up the spinal cord circuits below the injury and make it easier for weaker brain signals to get through. The reevefoundation were very early believers in this new science and helped push this to real patients.
