JBJ Soul Kitchen is closing its pop-up cafe at the Ocean County Library’s Toms River branch.
Throughout the year it was open, the restaurant served over 15,800 meals, with 79% going to customers in need. Over 1,000 volunteers helped feed customers through nearly 4,000 hours of community service. They distributed more than 1,300 hygiene kits and made 276 referrals to service providers.
The pop-up also sparked many debates about people experiencing homelessness gathering in town.
