Often times, especially with newcomers to photography, there’s the assumption that they need to acquire as much shiny, expensive gear as they can to truly be a successful or skilled photographer. But as with any art form, the tools we use are just middlemen between the skill/knowledge of the artist and the end product. Some tools are better than others, yes, and aid our creation process, but when it comes down to it, great photography is essentially the successful vision and creativity of the photographer captured via his/her technical knowledge, creative eye, skill and execution.
