Ireland’s basking sharks may be in danger of overheating... Our teams in Zoology have been gathering data from basking sharks in Ireland as well as some of the ocean’s largest predators, around the world. Their new research, published in the journal sciencemagazine had some surprising results. Dr Nick Payne and Professor Andrew Jackson tell us why we should be concerned about the fate of these vital members of our ocean ecosystems, in the face of changing climates and warming oceans.
