The 2026 bostonmarathon healed me as a runner: A love letter to running. šš¼āāļøāØ
Since my cancer diagnosis in 2017, running has still been a part of my life, but it hasnāt been my life.
My health and wellness, both mental and physical, took a backseat to my career aspirations, and thatās okay! For 8 years, I hadnāt trained for marathons like I should. I ran races to prepare for other races, and counted on my mental strength to pull me through. It did, for 9 marathons.
I ran nearly 300 miles this training cycle. Iām still not where I want to be, but Iām on the way there. The Boston Marathon was my best race in 9 years. I never hit a wall. I felt great. The entire race, I smiled (or happy cried), cheered on and encouraged other runners, and knew I was going to beat my goal (and realistically couldāve pushed harder and demolished it).
I found joy in running again somewhere between Hopkinton and Boston. Thereās literally nothing like it. I know you can find that joy, too.
Thank you...
