There are moments in this journey that stay with you forever… and today was one of them. We loaded up two of our sweet rescues and started the drive to their new home… not knowing exactly how it would feel when we got there. This family already had a donkey… Jake… and for the past couple of years, he’s been alone. That changed today. Watching them step off the trailer… take in the pasture… and then slowly walk up to the fence to meet Jake… you could feel it. They knew. He knew. No more lonely days for Jake ❤️ And then… watching their daughter gently brushing one of them, loving on him like he had always been hers… that’s the moment it all hit me. This is why we do what we do. The hardest part of rescue will always be letting them go… but sometimes the greatest act of love is knowing they were never meant to stay. They were meant to be here.
