MONARCHS RALLY LATE TO BEAT LIONS: The jserra.baseball team suffered a tough defeat in Trinity League action on Wednesday, as the Mater Dei Monarchs rallied to an 8-5 victory over the Lions in eight innings at JSerra Catholic High School. JSerra seized a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning with a two-out rally. Senior Blake Bowen walked, which was followed by junior Shane D’Arcy getting hit by a pitch. Junior Ayden Coleman produced an infield single to load the bases for senior Brise Boop, who recorded an RBI infield single to score Bowen. Mater Dei tied the game at 1-1 in the top of the fourth inning. The Lions recaptured the advantage in the bottom of the fifth inning. Bowen started the rally with a one-out triple to left field. D’Arcy was hit by a pitch and Coleman walked to load the bases. Boop was hit by a pitch to bring home Bowen and give the Lions a 2-1 lead.
