MONARCHS SLIP PAST LIONS: The jserra.boys_tennis team and Mater Dei engaged in a tight down-to-the-wire Trinity League battle on Tuesday at JSerra Catholic High School, with the Monarchs pulling out the win on total games (73-68) after the two teams each claimed nine sets. JSerra is now 18-2 overall and 8-1 in league play. Senior Connor Faul and sophomore Rafael Shaikh notched victories of 7-5, 6-2, and 6-0 in doubles action. Senior HB Warner and junior Kayden Kral were also undefeated in their tandem sets, winning by scores of 6-2, 6-3, and 6-0. Seniors Cade Faul and Emilio Salgado joined forces for triumphs of 6-3 and 6-3.
