Red panda. Ailurus fulgens. Himalayan origin. Entirely separate species from raccoon. Not related. Not similar. Not even in the same taxonomic neighbourhood. The red panda is the sole member of the family Ailuridae which is a sentence that raccoons cannot say because raccoons are procyonids and that is a completely different family and we will not be accepting confusion between the two. π€
