A new kind of idol just dropped—one that carries traditional Korean music with them 🇰🇷
Yeah… this is real K-pop.
JYP Entertainment’s subsidiary INNIT Entertainment introduces “gugak idols” dodree (dodree_innit) to the K-pop scene.
Gugak, Korean traditional arts, basically cover music, dance, and performance rooted in Korea—and even modern reinterpretations of them—and Pansori is one of the most iconic styles.
Their name “dodree” combines the traditional rhythm doduri with “free,” reflecting their vision to break genre limits and expand freely onto the global stage.
The doduri rhythm itself is a slow, repetitive 6-beat pattern—an essential element of Korean court music known for its calm and balanced vibe.
dodree is opening a new lane by layering traditional instruments and vocal styles over pop sounds—and people are loving this fresh fusion of gugak and K-pop.
Their debut track “just like a dream” is seriously addictive—go check it out now.
