This Earth Day, we look back to IDS 2026 and the BID Design Justice Charrette presented in partnership with ARIDO, inspired_learninglab and ojiibik at the ARIDO booth. ARIDO Interior Design students, with the help of their Intern mentors, took on a powerful challenge: designing with both the planet and people in mind. Through a focused charrette, they explored how marginalized communities are disproportionately impacted by environmental issues - from poor air quality to limited access to green space - and reimagined how design can be part of the solution.
