Can a golfer with Muscular Dystrophy break 90?
I'm a 42 year old golfer from who was diagnosed with a rare form of Muscular Dystrophy five years ago. It's a disease that's slowly broken down my leg strength. I went from playing basketball and golfing most of my life to now, using a cane to get around. I can no longer run, jump, and barely bend my knees.
It's made golfing really difficult and I almost gave it up a few years back. I decided to change my swing and stand upright and just adapt the best I can. Well, It's surprisingly worked out decently and I even shot in the 90s a few times last year.
I've decided to completely dedicate and challenge myself to break 90. I've done that when able bodied but doing that now would be one of coolest achievements. I'm going to document my journey to hopefully inspire others but also hold myself accountable.
I know that with my distance loss, chipping and putting will be the area where I'll need to improve.
