From learning about citizenship as a Tiger
#CubScout, to tackling a service project that will help firefighters throughout his community, Jacob D. has had quite the
#Scouting adventure.
A member of Troop 600 in Oak Ridge, North Carolina, Jacob created two freestanding dryers for firefighter gear for his
#EagleScout Service Project. The two machines dry the expensive firefighter gear quickly, efficiently and without damage. That’s not all – Jacob’s project will impact ALL firefighters across the Greensboro, North Carolina, community.
“[Jacob’s] going to give us the plans for [the freestanding dryers], and we can make some of these for ourself – and we’ve got 27 fire stations across the city,” explains Deputy Chief Dwayne Church of the Greensboro Fire Department. “That would be a huge impact – all across the city of Greensboro.”
