At a town hall on campus Tuesday, the UC Berkeley community gathered to bring concerns to California gubernatorial candidate Xavier Becerra. The event saw topics ranging from local air pollution to international affairs. In the past two weeks of the eventful California governor race, support for Becerra has surged from 4% to 13%. Becerra previously served as California’s attorney general from 2017 to 2021. He also served as the 25th U.S. secretary of health and human services under former President Joe Biden’s administration.
