Beginning May 1, vehicles will no longer be able to line up and wait on Highway 89A after the park’s parking lot reaches capacity. Previously, cars could wait in the right turn lane, sometimes for several hours, until a spot opened in a one-out, one-in policy. The state park is about 7 miles north of Sedona and boasts a natural waterslide and picnic areas. It has 156 parking spots, which quickly fill up during the busy spring and summer months. Under the new policy, when all spots are full, officials will close the parking lot until a substantial number of spots have reopened for another rush of vehicles. Depending on the visitors, that process could take all day. #sliderock #arizona #sedona #statepark #summerfun
