Happy April 23!
We were kids too... I believe this was taken in 1981, my final year of elementary school, during our end-of-year performance.
If I remember correctly, we were singing "Yüzümde gülücük, elimde minicik kırmızı bir gül var" (There's a smile on my face, and in my hand, a tiny red rose) — and at the end of the song, we threw our roses to the audience.
April 23, National Sovereignty and Children's Day, marks the founding of the Turkish Grand National Assembly in 1920 and is uniquely dedicated to children by Mustafa Kemal
